Meta Agent

Your AI-powered social media manager, sales rep, and engagement hero — built for Meta platforms.

The DomainChat Meta Agent is a fully autonomous AI assistant that lives on your Instagram and Facebook pages. It talks to your followers in natural language, handles post comments, replies to Direct Messages (DMs), and proactively converts social engagement into sales and registrations. It connects to your social accounts in one click and uses intelligent intent-matching to deliver exactly the right response.

What the Meta Agent Does

Think of it as your best social media manager and sales associate rolled into one, working 24/7. Here's the complete capability map:

Intelligent Comment Triage: Detects sales inquiries, support questions, compliments, or complaints.
Hybrid Rule Matching: Triggers specific replies based on exact keywords or AI-detected intent — on Instagram and Facebook alike.
Private DM Handoff: Acknowledges comments publicly, but sends details, prices, and CTAs in DMs.
Per-Post Knowledge: Facts you attach to one post are used only for that post's comments and its DM follow-ups.
Strict Price Quoting: Locks in exact prices/fees for specific posts to prevent misquoting.
Context-Aware CTA Delivery: Suppresses spammy links for generic comments, but delivers perfectly when asked.
Labeled CTA Buttons & File Delivery: 🔗 Open Link, 📄 View PDF, ▶️ Watch Video, 🎧 Listen Now — real buttons and real attachments, never raw URLs.
Follow-Gating: Optionally withhold the CTA until the user confirms they follow your account.
Draft Rules: Prepare rules without triggering them; publish with one click when ready.
Rule Templates: Your public reply and first DM message, sent word-for-word as you wrote them.
Social Funnel Analytics: Comments → conversations → leads, per post, per channel.
Duplicate-Keyword Protection: Conflicting rules are blocked at save time — no silent misfires.

Getting Started — Setup & Post Mappings

Setting up the Meta Agent is designed to be highly customizable but incredibly easy. Once you connect your Facebook or Instagram page, you can create Post Mappings to tell the AI how to handle comments on specific posts or ads.

Step 1: Connect Your Account

Link your Facebook Page or Instagram Professional Account via the secure Meta OAuth popup. No complex API keys required.

Step 2: Create a Trigger Rule

Select a specific post (or ad) and define a Trigger Rule.

For example, you can tell the AI: "When someone comments on my 'Summer Sale' post, look for the keywords 'price', 'link', or 'buy'." You can add multiple rules to one post (e.g. a GUIDE route, a PRICE route, a PDF route) — each with its own keywords, CTA, and templates. Add Another Rule to this Post keeps everything inside that post's mapping; Add New Mapping starts a fresh mapping for a different post.

Step 3: Add Post Knowledge (Optional)

This is where the magic happens. You can add specific details about this post that the AI should use. For example, if the post is about a specific event, you can add: "Registration closes on Friday. The venue is Central Park."

Post knowledge is scoped to that post only — it is used when answering comments on it and DM follow-ups in the same thread for 24 hours. It never leaks into unrelated conversations. If you leave it blank, the agent will simply fall back to your general knowledge base to answer questions!

Step 4: Choose the CTA (Optional)

Each rule delivers one CTA: a link (sent as a tappable 🔗 Open Link button), or a file — PDF, video, or audio, uploaded once and delivered as a real DM attachment (with a 📄 View PDF / ▶️ Watch Video / 🎧 Listen Now heads-up before it). Supported uploads: PDF, MP4, MOV, WEBM, MP3, M4A, WAV, PNG, JPG, GIF, WEBP. Raw URLs are never pasted into chat — buttons and attachments do the talking.

Step 5: Draft or Publish

Save a rule as a draft to prepare it without going live — drafts never trigger and never quote prices. When you're happy, hit Publish. You can move any live rule back to draft anytime to pause it without deleting it.

AI Rule Matching — How it Reads Comments

The Meta Agent doesn't just look for robotic, exact keywords. It uses a sophisticated 3-step hybrid matching system to understand what your followers actually mean.

Suppose you set up a rule with the keyword "registration". Here is how the AI handles comments:

1. Exact Keyword Match

If a user comments "Send me the registration link", the AI sees the exact keyword, matches the rule, and sends a DM with your CTA link.

2. AI Intent Match (Synonyms)

What if the user comments "How do I sign up?" or "How do I join?" They didn't use your exact keyword, but our AI intent classifier detects the intent. It knows "sign up" means "registration", so it successfully triggers the rule and sends the CTA link!

3. Generic Comments (Context Only)

If a user just comments "Nice post!" or leaves a 🔥 emoji, the AI knows this is a generic compliment. It will intentionally suppress the CTA link so you don't spam them, but it may still send a friendly, contextual "Thank you!" in the DMs.

Keyword rules of the road: the first rule saved wins — so two rules on the same post can't share a keyword (we block the save and tell you the conflict), and two global DM rules can't either. Using the same keyword on different posts is perfectly fine, because comments only match the rules of the post they're on. We also warn you when one keyword contains another (e.g. "price" and "price list").

The Two-Stage Brain: Post Knowledge vs. General Knowledge

You might wonder: What happens if my agent knows about my whole business, but I want it to focus on one specific product for a specific Instagram post?

The Meta Agent uses Two-Stage Retrieval:

Stage One (Post Knowledge): When a user asks a question via a specific post, the AI searches the knowledge attached to that post first, and uses it as supporting evidence for its answer.
Stage Two (General Knowledge): If the post knowledge doesn't have the answer (or if you left it blank), the AI seamlessly falls back to reading your uploaded PDFs, website links, or general knowledge base.
Example: You have a massive knowledge base about all your marathons. But for your Run for Green Instagram post, you set the Post Knowledge. When a user asks about the route, the AI answers using the Run for Green facts. If they ask a general question like "What is your refund policy?", the AI instantly falls back to your general knowledge base to find the answer. It's a perfect hybrid!

How far does post knowledge reach?

Comments on the post — always. DM follow-ups in the same conversation thread within 24 hours — yes, so the answer survives when a commenter moves to your DMs. Anywhere else (a fresh DM, your website chat) — no: those answers come from your general knowledge base, so post-specific facts never leak into unrelated conversations.

Pricing Rules — Never Misquote an Offer

Pricing on social media is highly sensitive. The Meta Agent includes a strict Price Rule engine to ensure absolute accuracy.

When you create a post mapping, you can enter a specific Price / Offer Value (e.g., "199 Rs" or "$50.00").

If the AI detects that a user is asking about pricing (e.g., "How much?", "Cost?", "Fee?"), it bypasses the AI's standard memory and injects a strict rule: It must quote your exact offer value verbatim. It will never calculate, round, or substitute a different price from your general knowledge base, ensuring your customers always get the exact promotional offer tied to that post.

Draft rules never quote prices — a rule must be live for its price to be used.

Follow-Gating — Grow Your Following with Every CTA

Turn every CTA into a follower. Enable "Require follow before sending the CTA" on any rule, and the flow becomes:

1. Customer comments your keyword → public reply + first DM go out as usual.
2. Instead of the link/file, the DM shows: "Quick one — make sure you're following us so we can send it over 🙌 Tap below once done!" with an ✅ I'm following button.
3. When they tap it, the withheld CTA is delivered instantly — labeled button or attachment, same as normal.

Instagram and Facebook don't expose a way to verify a follow via API, so the button is an honor-system confirmation — the same approach every automation platform uses. Its value is the nudge: following becomes the path of least resistance to what they asked for.

Reply Templates — Say It Exactly Your Way

Every rule can carry two templates, and both are sent verbatim — the AI never rewrites them:

Public Comment Reply Template

What gets posted as the public reply under the comment (e.g. "We've sent you a DM with all details! 📩"). Posted word-for-word whenever you set it. For safety, replies over 150 characters or containing prices are replaced with a neutral fallback — public comment sections are not the place for prices.

DM First Message Template (rule-wise)

The first DM the customer receives after commenting (e.g. "Hey! Saw you want the free guide — grabbing it for you right away 🚀"). Sent as-is, then the CTA button/attachment follows. Each trigger route on a post has its own template — your GUIDE DM shouldn't read like your PRICE DM. Leave empty for a fully AI-written DM.

Social Funnel — See What Actually Works

Every comment, conversation, and captured lead is tracked per post. The Social Funnel panel — on your Meta agent dashboard and at the top of the Instagram/Facebook channel tabs — shows:

Totals: comments → conversations → leads, with conversion rates between each stage.
Channel split: Instagram vs Facebook side by side.
Top posts: a ranked per-post table, so you know exactly which post earned its leads.
Windows: last 7 / 30 / 90 days.

A "conversation" is a distinct person who commented or DM'd; a "lead" is a completed name → email → phone capture in a social chat.

Media Upload Limits

PDF, video, and audio CTAs count against your plan's media rule quota (workspace-wide, across both channels), and each upload is capped by your plan's max file size — Free 10 MB up to Scale 100 MB. See the Plan Limits guide for the full table.

Facebook Works the Same

Everything on this page — keyword + intent matching, labeled CTAs, follow-gating, drafts, templates, post knowledge, the funnel — applies to your Facebook Page's comments and Messenger DMs exactly as it does to Instagram. Facebook mappings are fully editable after saving (title, price, CTA link, keywords, templates, expiry, and more), and the post scheduler (Expires At) pauses the whole post when it lapses.
