Multi-Type & Multi-Event Scheduling
How Domainchat manages multiple bookable services, team schedules, chat menus, and concurrent bookings.
Domainchat AI agents are not limited to a single rigid calendar. An agent can host multiple services simultaneously—such as distinct team members (Dr. Smith vs Dr. Patel), tiers of service (15-minute Discovery vs 60-minute Consultation), or differing locations (In-Person Office vs Video Call). This guide explains how the AI presents options, handles chat menus, and manages active appointments.
1. Managing Multiple Bookable Services
Each service configured under Workspace → Calendar → Event Types can be set up with its own rules:
| Setting | Scope | How It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Title & Description | Per Service | The public name and summary used by the AI to match what the customer asks for. |
| Duration & Interval | Per Service | Meeting length (e.g. 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 60 min). Supports rapid check-ins as well as extended sessions. |
| Paid Service & Pricing | Per Service | Optionally require upfront payment. Configure price and currency; appointments are safely held as Pending until checkout completes via Razorpay. |
| Timezone | Per Service | The local timezone in which this service is hosted. |
| Location & Format | Per Service | Phone call, Video Meeting (Google Meet/Zoom), In-person address, or customer location. |
| Weekly Availability | Per Service | Custom days and hours (e.g. Dr. Patel is available Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Dr. Smith is available Mondays and Wednesdays). |
| Date Overrides | Per Service | Specific calendar dates blocked out for holidays or given extended hours. |
| Active Toggle | Per Service | Pauses online booking for this specific service without deleting any past appointment history. |
2. How Multiple Services Work in Chat
The booking experience automatically adapts depending on whether your customer is using your Website Chat Widget or a Social Messaging Channel (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram):
2.1 Website Chat Widget: The Interactive Card Carousel
2.2 Social Messaging Channels: Conversational Selection
Platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram do not support embedded website widgets. Domainchat solves this with a clean, conversational selection:

2.3 Direct Name Requests (Skip the Menu)
When a customer mentions a specific service name, team member, or keyword in their first message, Domainchat skips the menu and goes straight to booking:

3. Multiple Appointments & Duplicate Safeguards
Can one client book multiple appointments? Domainchat uses a practical, fair policy:
3.1 Allowed: Appointments for Different Services
A customer can simultaneously hold upcoming appointments for different services. For example, a candidate may have an active "Initial Interview" on Tuesday and a "Product Demo" on Thursday. Holding an appointment for one service never prevents booking a different service.
3.2 Protected: Duplicate Bookings for the Same Service
To prevent accidental double-bookings and ensure fair availability for all clients, a customer cannot book two active upcoming appointments for the exact same service:
Duplicate Prevention Rule:
"You already have an upcoming appointment of this type. One appointment per service at a time is allowed — you can reschedule it instead, or book a different service."
In chat, the agent automatically recognizes their existing booking and offers to reschedule their upcoming time or choose a different service.

4. What Happens When a Service is Paused?
In Workspace → Calendar → Event Types, you can switch any service to Inactive whenever you want to pause online bookings without deleting past appointment records:
| Area | What Happens When a Service is Inactive |
|---|---|
| Chat Matching | The AI agent stops offering this service in conversations. If someone asks for it, the AI informs them it is temporarily closed. |
| Website Chat Menu | The paused service is completely hidden from the web service carousel. |
| Social Messaging Menus | The paused service is removed from the numbered list sent on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Telegram. |
| Direct Booking Links | Anyone opening an old link to a paused service sees a friendly notice that bookings are temporarily closed. |
| Availability Checking | The system immediately stops displaying available slots for that service. |
| Booking Forms | Any leftover or cached form submissions for a deactivated service are safely blocked. |
| If All Services are Paused | The AI politely explains that online scheduling is currently closed and offers to take their contact info so your team can reach out manually. |
